The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) is based in the Netherlands, in the city of Amsterdam. Amsterdam is a cosmopolitan city where 175 different nationalities live and work together and where the English language is largely spoken. The AUAS consists of seven faculties with a total of 46,000 students and offer a total of 80 bachelor and master programmes. Several cooperations in co-designing project under FP7 (i.e. Prometheus, Heureka, etc.).

Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut bases its educational philosophy, standards, and practices on the American liberal arts model of higher education. A teaching-centered research university, AUB has around 800 instructional faculty and a student body of around 8,000 students. The University encourages freedom of thought and expression and seeks to graduate men and women committed to creative and critical thinking, life-long learning, personal integrity, civic responsibility, and leadership. Cooperation during the preparation of BeLive3D project designed by X23, AUB and several partners (also LEICA participated), then led by University of Salerno.

The Umbria Research Agency (AUR), a research organization of the Umbria Region, established under Regional Law no. 30 of 27 March 2000 (Coordinated texts LR 5/2008 and LR 4/2011), with reference to the regional reality, performs the following functions: cares for the collection, observation and analysis of data relating to the main economic, social and territorial magnitudes; conducts studies and research on the transformations and economic trends of the socio-economic structure; draws up a periodic report on the economic and social performance of the region. Co-organisers at SEUA16 for Italy, led by the Country Manager X23.

The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) is a public higher education institute operating as a central budgetary institution. Its founding regulation has been issued by the Minister of Human Capacities. Its organizational and operational conditions are summarized in its own regulation in accordance with laws. Education, research, innovation and direct additional services are proceeded by the faculties. Work-sharing between the faculties are subject oriented both in the fields of education and that of technology. Cooperation with X23 under FP7 EU programme in ePassport, ToAction, The Primate projects.

The Croatian Academic and Research Network - CARNet was established in 1991 as a project of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of Croatia. In March 1995 the Government of the Republic of Croatia passed the Decree on founding of the CARNet institution with the purpose of facilitating progress of individuals, as well as of the society as a whole, through the use of new information technologies. The word CARNet is an acronym formed from the name of the institution in English (Croatian Academic and Research Network). CARNet services are available to educational institutions (from K-12 to higher education, including research centers and institutes) and individual users alike. Co-designed innovative projects together with X23 under European umbrella programmes.

The National Research Council (Cnr) is the largest public research institution in Italy, the only one under the Research Ministry performing multidisciplinary activities. Founded as legal person on 18 November 1923, Cnr’s mission is to perform research in its own Institutes, to promote innovation and competitiveness of the national industrial system, to promote the internationalization of the national research system, to provide technologies and solutions to emerging public and private needs, to advice Government and other public bodies, and to contribute to the qualification of human resources. Several cooperation together with a lot of Cnr's institutes in designing, managing and co-leading international PCM phases.

The Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas (CERTH) is the only research centre in Northern Greece and one of the largest in the country. CERTH has important scientific and technological achievements in many areas including: Energy, Environment, Industry, Mechatronics, Information & Communication, Transportation & Sustainable Mobility, Health, Agro-biotechnology, Smart farming, Safety & Security, as well as several cross-disciplinary scientific areas. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia – Institute for business education is one of the education and training providers for adults with longest tradition and experience in development, organization and implementation of professional and technical seminars, training courses, workshops, short- and long-term courses and other events for the needs of business subjects Slovenia. Orientation towards actual education, training and competences demands on the labor market enabled CPU to become one of the largest education and training providers for adults in Slovenia. Strongly Supported X23 in e2Skill+ project for modelling novel vocational studies programmes.

CURE has gained extensive experience by conducting numerous projects and activities in a variety of scientific and industrial settings. Our projects cover a wide range of usage contexts and application areas. The application area ranges from theoretical user experience research to applied research on user experience challenges such as interaction with intelligent environments. CURE's Usability & User Experience laboratories are fully equipped with the most advanced research and demonstration facilities. All rooms can modularly be connected with each other. This allows numerous settings for studies, observations etc. Collaborated with X23 in designing innovative models and solution in a few projects at European and international level.

CRIC Center for Research and Information on Consumption (CRIC) is a non-profit and fully independent research center in Barcelona, born in 1996 when CRIC wanted to find a few people consistent with original ideas. Several people collaborate voluntarily on specific projects or tasks spreading ideas and knowledge, training activities in various formats and in partnerships with media. Main objectives are to disseminate practices (individual and collective) and reflections for consumption and lifestyle transformers, in the direction of more sustainable human and economic environment, mainly through the CRIC magazine "Options”. Cooperated with X23 in many projects as a partner in European and international consortia and special groups of interest (SGIs).

The Cyprus University of Technology aspires to develop itself into a modern, pioneering University able to offer education and high level research in leading branches of science and technology which have high impact on the economic, technical, and scientific sectors. With its orientation towards applied research, the University aspires to establish for itself a role in support of the state and society in their efforts to confront problems, which cover all areas of science and technology. The programmes of the CUT to a large extent complement scientific areas, which are not currently covered at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels by the University of Cyprus or any other institution of higher education in the country. CUT supported several programmes led by X23, such as EUHeritageTOUR, EUMillennials, ePassport, BECreative, etc.

The Digital Heritage Research Lab (DHRLab) was established in 2013 at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the Cyprus University of Technology. The lab is devoted to research on the digitisation, archiving, and promotion of cultural heritage, tangible and intangible remains of our cultural past. The research scientists and doctoral students employed at the lab engage in collaborate research with national and international institutions to explore the latest technological advances in the field, their efficacy and usefulness in bring cultural heritage information to end-users, obstacles and prospects for further development. At a European level the lab collaborates with a network of over 150 partners from the academic, research and industrial sectors working towards the development of new tools and applications. X23 is part of DHRLab and partner of Europeana.

The Engineering Council sets and maintains the internationally recognised standards of professional competence and ethics that govern the award and retention of these titles. This ensures that employers, government and wider society - both in the UK and overseas - can have confidence in the knowledge, experience and commitment of professionally registered engineers and technicians. As the regulatory body for the UK engineering profession, the Engineering Council sets and maintains internationally recognised standards of professional competence and commitment. These are detailed in the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC) and the Information and Communications Technology Technician (ICTTech) Standard. The Engineering Council also holds the national register of over 222,000 engineers and technicians who have been assessed against standards and awarded one of the professional titles (EngTech, IEng, CEng, ICTTech). The European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL) is the international federation of benchmarked Living Labs in Europe and worldwide. Founded in November 2006 under the auspices of the Finnish European Presidency, the network has grown in ‘waves’ up to this day. ENoLL counts today over 170 active Living Labs members worldwide (395 historically recognised over 9 years), including active members in 20 of the 28 EU Member States, 2 of the candidates and it is present in 5 continents in addition to Europe. Directly, as well as through its active members, ENoLL provides co-creation, user engagement, test and experimentation facilities targeting innovation in many different domains such as energy, media, mobility, healthcare, agrifood, etc. As such, ENoLL is well placed to act as a platform for best practice exchange, learning and support, and Living Lab international project development. Cooperated with X23 and some Consortia we have set-up under the FP7 programme.

The European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB) is the European umbrella association of free and non-profit educational providers. Its objective lies in the qualitative improvement of vocational education and training in European countries and an increase in the efforts being carried out in education at a European level. The objective work done by the EVBB is the qualitative improvement of vocational education and training in European countries and an increase in the efforts being carried out in education at a European level. The EVBB is neither politically nor denominationally affiliated. Its activities are not focused on business operations or making a profit. It serves solely and exclusively non-profit purposes within the meaning of the General Fiscal Law as it is valid in the Federal Republic of Germany. Friuli Innovazione was the co-organiser at regional level (Friuli Venezia Giulia) during the Startup Europe Awards 2016, selecting innovative startup and disseminating the programme.

The Region of Murcia’s Fundación Universidad Empresa was created in 1988 as a “Link between University and Business” by the University of Murcia, the Region of Murcia's Chamber of Commerce, industry and navigation, the business association CROEM, the INFO, and a large number of companies acting individually. Ten years later, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena was added to the list when it was separated from the University of Murcia. Several cooperation with X23 at the European level co-designing and co-managing projects for innovative higher education models.

Hanken is a leading, internationally accredited university with over a hundred years of experience in education and research in economics and business administration. Our research is of an international high standard and is the foundation for all education. Hanken has close ties to the business community and an active alumni network with over 13 000 alumni working in more than 65 countries. The study environment is international and we have campuses in Helsinki and Vaasa, Finland. The faculty at the Department of Economics at Hanken School of Economics is closely connected to the international research community. The faculty has a high-quality publication record and is extensively involved in scientific expert assignments, for example for international journals. The ICAC is a public institution established by the Government of Catalonia and the Rovira i Virgili University. Its purpose is to carry out research, advanced training and dissemination in the field of the Mediterranean civilisation and culture from protohistory to Late Antiquity, in all its material and immaterial expressions. It is the centre of reference in Catalonia in this field. In March 2015, the ICAC was awarded the “HR Excellence in Research” accreditation for its personnel in accordance with the European Commission’s Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R). ICAC cooperated together with many European and international partners in co-design the implementation of a couple of projects such as EUHeritageTOUR (digital tourism related to UNESCO POIs) and BELive3d (3D digital platform devoted to Cultural Heritage).

Inercia Digital is an Andalusian company with outlets Europeanwide. Its main target is to contribute with innovative solutions to both e-business and web entrepreneurship skills for SMEs and entrepreneurs. Located in the Scientific and Technological Park of Huelva (PCTH - Building 2.000, C/ Caucho, 1, 21110 Aljaraque, Huelva, Spain), ID head office are equipped with all the necessary facilities and resources to teach a quality specialised attendance-based training. In addition, offers some programmes and online courses specialised in both e-business and web entrepreneurship skills accessible through our Virtual Campus, which has been approved by the Regional Government of Andalusia as a Virtual Training Centre for Employment. The Institute of Baltic Studies (IBS) is an independent, non-profit policy research and development think tank in Estonia that aims at assisting the development of public policy in the Baltic Sea region by providing high-quality socio-economic analysis. Founded in 1996, IBS aims with its activities at contributing to the increase of knowledge and understanding of the development challenges and opportunities facing Estonia in particular and Baltic Sea region in general. IBS main areas of expertise fall into three broad domains: science, technology and innovation policy, industrial economics and regional development; social cohesion policies in the areas of labour, migration and development, immigrant integration and fundamental rights; policy analysis, policy and Programme evaluation and impact assessment studies related to the above. Supporting X23 in LEAN-IN WBAs European Community programme and Me4Change projects related to refugees's opportunity in self-entrepreneurship.

The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto undertakes activities in the realms of education, research, and innovation at international level. Accordingly, the results of these activities lead to the creation and transmission of knowledge, training of competent and ethical professionals, and future leaders in the area of engineering and similar areas, and also the promotion of wellbeing of our global society. We cooperated with the University of Porto, Faculty of Engineering in designing ePassport+ (ePassport Plus), TOAction [Towards Open Access Coordination Training InnovatiON], an European framework built upon existing Open Access to education criteria to train stakeholders in accessing and exploiting existing OA research results, including the 20% of the FP7-funded work made available via Open Access. The project was designed by X23 and led by the ITC - CNR (Milan), in a consortium of 15+ partners in HEI, ACADs, Research sector.

CPI is the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Vocational Education and Training, the central Slovenian institution dealing with development, research and counselling in the field of vocational and technical education. The Institute is achieving relevant goals through its numerous activities, guided by the fundamental principles of further development and quality in vocational and technical education. The following organisations operate within the Slovenian National Institute for Vocational Education and Training: National Reference Point (NRP), Slovenian Quality Assurance Reference Point for vocational education and training – SIQAVET, National Europass Centre, and National Observatory of Slovenia. The International Centre for Information Management Systems and Services (ICIMSS) was created by resolution of the Nicolas Copernicus University Senate on the16th of September 1997. The Conference of Higher Education Institutions' Presidents earlier supported the idea of the creation in Torun of this unit. JA Finland’s (Junior Achievement Finland) goal is to advance entrepreneurial attitude and an active lifestyle among Finnish youths by increasing their knowledge of entrepreneurship, providing entrepreneurial experiences, enhancing readiness for working life and financial management skills. JA aims to fulfill its goals by providing programs supporting entrepreneurship and consumer education for 7- to 25-year-olds through schools, universities, and other educational institutions. The Lisbon Architecture Triennale is a non-profit association whose mission is to research, foster and promote architectural thinking and practice. It holds a major forum every three years for the debate, discussion and dissemination of architecture across geographic and disciplinary boundaries. The first Triennale, "Urban Voids" took place in 2007 with a programme of international exhibitions, competitions and conferences drawing 52,000 visitors and participants. In 2010, its second edition "Let’s Talk About Houses" consolidated the Triennale’s presence in the circuit of events devoted to architecture with an estimated 154,000 attendees. Now, from its new headquarters in the Sinel de Cordes Palace, where a creative cluster is being established, the Triennale organizes as well "Intervalo", a programme which happens between each edition of the Triennale event. Madan Parque was established in December 1995 by means of a joint effort of 4 founding members, namely: FCT-UNL (Faculty of Sciences and Technology | NOVA University of Lisbon), Almada Municipality, NOVA University of Lisbon - Rectory, and UNINOVA (Institute for the Development of New Technologies, a ROR). MFG Baden-Württemberg is the centre of excellence for creative industries, media, and film of the federal state Baden-Württemberg in southwest Germany. With more than 40 highly qualified employees it promotes Baden-Württemberg as a premier location for the creative industries. MFG Baden-Württemberg consists of 2 divisions: MFG Innovation Agency, MFG Film Funding. MFG operates as a state-wide centre of excellence and a public promoter of culture, economic development providing targeted support measures to the industry. The film promotion sector focuses on project funding, whereas the creative one focuses on networking and mediation for the media and creative industry. Partner in Prometheus programme.

Mid Sweden University (Mittuniversitetet) is a Swedish state university located in the region around the geographical center of Sweden, with two campuses in the cities of Östersund and Sundsvall, (until summer 2016 also in the city of Härnösand), with two authorised areas of research (vetenskapsområden), organized under the Faculty of Science, Technology and Media (since 2001), and the Faculty of Human Sciences (since 2005) respectively. The National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (NCSR “Demokritos”) is the largest multidisciplinary research center in Greece, with critical mass in expertise and infrastructure in the fields of Nanotechnology, Energy & Environment, Biosciences, Particle and Nuclear Science, Informatics and Telecommunications. The Center was inaugurated in 1961 as a state-owned entity under the name Nuclear Research Center “Demokritos”, following the coming into operation of the nuclear reactor research facility. Supporting X23 and its Consortium for the ScaleUP Circus project under the Startup Europe Programme.

The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is structured according to the continental European system for training engineers, with an emphasis on solid background. The duration of courses leading, after the acquisition of 300 credit units to a Diploma, of Master’s level, is five years. The valuable work of NTUA and its international reputation are due to its well-organised educational and research system, the quality of its staff and students, and the adequacy of its technical infrastructure. NTUA graduates were pivotal to Greece’s pre-war development and to post-war reconstruction. More than one time NTUA was a key-partner in X23's actions under EC-cofunded projects, e.g. TOAction, Prometheus, BECreative.

As an independent specialist Art College since 1856 is to provide a distinctive, innovative and supportive learning community in contemporary arts practice; to add value to the cultural, social and economic life of Plymouth and the South West region; and to develop our distinctive profile of our work nationally and internationally. Plymouth College or Art proposed, as leader and co-designer, some projects to the European Commission (i.e. "Creasus"), selecting X23 as a key partner, and supported us in our projects (i.e. EUHeritageTOUR).

The Politecnico di Torino is one of the most important universities in Europe for engineering and architecture studies, strongly committed to collaboration with industry. Politecnico is a research university that participates at the highest levels of international scientific research. Research activities, are structured in four macro-areas: Industrial Engineering; Information Technology; Management and Mathematical Engineering; Civil, Environmental, Architecture and Design Engineering. The new campus hosts the Business Research Center that provides partners with office space and laboratories for innovation and technology transfer. Politecnico is supporting X23 and its partners in the proposed actions within the ScaleUP Circus project under the Startup Europe line of ICT-32-2017, playing an epicentric role in Turin as a cornerstone in the selected innovation ecosystem.

The Research Information Network is a policy unit funded by the UK higher education funding councils, the seven research councils and the three national libraries. The School of Entrepreneurship (SCENT) was established in January 2014 in the University of Padua, Department of Industrial Engineering (DII), with the mission to study and promote entrepreneurship and innovation. In order to reach his goal, SCENT dynamically operates on three different levels: producing new knowledge on innovative startups and early stage entrepreneurship, developing education programs in technology-based, and innovative entrepreneurship. The School of Entrepreneurship aims to provide researchers and others with an entrepreneurial orientation, a targeted training course and appropriate support for the development of entrepreneurial skills. The South-East European Research Centre (SEERC) is an overseas research centre of the University of Sheffield, established as a non-profit legal entity in Thessaloniki, Greece. The centre was founded by City College, the University's International Faculty, in 2003. It is conducting multidisciplinary research in the fields of Enterprise, Innovation & Development, Information & Communication Technologies, and Society & Human Development. SEERC's mission is to support the stable and peaceful development of South-East Europe by conducting pure and applied research in and for the region. To accomplish this, SEERC will employ the existing research capacities of the University of Sheffield and CITY College by facilitating collaborations between their research staff and by developing multi-disciplinary networks of researchers from across South-East Europe. SEERC co-designed the ScaleUP Circus project and is a key-partner in the consortium led by FGB and X23, together with EBAN, Digital Europe, Innsomnia, and Scaale.

As a result, the University has grown into one of the largest health care institution in Hungary today. It has nearly 40 departments distributed among the 4 main clinical centres (Inner Clinical Centre, Outer Clinical Centre, Kútvölgy Clinical Centre, Városmajor Clinical Centre). SUH is a key partner in the Innovation Action programmes that X23 is achieving with/for IAPB Italy (International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness).

SeoulTech was established at the same time as the birth of the Republic of Korea in April 1910. Providing practical education in engineering and design, SeoulTech have produced approximately 100,000 graduates over the years. The University comprises 13,000 students attending 6 colleges – the Engineering College, Information Communications College, Bioenergy College, Design College, Humanities and Social Sciences College, and Management Technology College.

Staffordshire University is one main campus based in the city of Stoke-on-Trent and has two main campuses, four smaller campuses, and extensive links with National, European and Transnational academic institutions. The university is noted for its science departments; in 2002 Psychology was among the top ten in the country, while Molecular Biochemistry and Biosciences were rated as 'excellent' by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. The Science Faculty together with most of the university also does consistently well in the National Student Survey and measures of graduate level employment after graduation. Staffordshire is a key partner in TOAction project designed by X23 and led by CNR (I).

The Complutense University of Madrid is a major cultural asset that provides multiple opportunities to get involved in cultural activities. UCM developed a large number of activities of international cooperation: conventions, European programs, and projects that allow for the exchange of students, teachers, researchers, and administration personnel between every continent. The university actively maintains agreements of cooperation with more than 900 institutions in 77 countries. With X23 and some partners such as NTUA - National Technical University of Athens (GR), MDR Partners (UK), University of Paris Descartes (F) etc., UCM shader the co-design phases of TOAction and supported several projects under the FP7 European Framework

A young, dynamic University with enormous potential for development, thanks to a peculiar capacity to compete internationally on major research projects and technological innovation issues. The university has gained a prestigious recognition in scientific research ranking as first in place in scientific excellence among the 15 Southern Italian Universities. UMG played also the role of co-organisers at regional level for the Startup Europe Awards initiative promoted by the European Commission and the European Parliament, led by X23 as Country Manager in Italy.

The University of Calabria (in short, UniCal) is an Italian state university founded in 1972, the largest of the Calabrian universities. The University is located on the hills of Arcavacata, part of the municipality of Rende, in the urban area of Cosenza. Its campus is spread over an area of 200 hts and includes, in addition to the buildings of the various departments, four libraries, a natural history museum and a botanical garden. In cooperation with UMG and the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria, the atheneum co-organised the Startup Europe Awards 2016 at the regional level, selecting the best 6 startups to be presented at national level.

Founded in 1982, the Università Mediterranea has completed the reorganization envisaged by the reform and is now presented with six departments in the areas of agriculture, architecture and engineering law, sixty laboratories and a renewed educational offer. The mission of Unicusano University is to provide an excellent all-round university and post- university education and to carry out extensive research activities within the disciplines of each of its faculties. Unicusano’s relationship with other centers of higher education is based on the concept of ‘coopetition’ (cooperation + competition) and follows guidelines proposed by the New and Net Economy such as ‘adhocracy’, ‘data mining", and ‘education’ in the sense of the ability to learn ‘how to learn’, to know ‘how to do’ and ‘how to be’. The University of Donja Gorica, also known as simply UDG, is a private university located in Donja Gorica, a suburb of Podgorica, Montenegro. The University was established in 2007, as the second private university in Montenegro. It currently represents the largest privately owned facility in the country. UDG offers a unique combination of multi-disciplinary expertise and proactive approach to exponential change of technological and business environment in the world. UDG is aspiring to become a regional leader in organizing events that promote research, innovation and entrepreneurship. UDG puts a significant emphasis on the development of entrepreneurship as well as its promotion among students and youth in general. UDG has developed strategic and project partnership with major Montenegrin companies such as “13. jul Plantaze” (major wine and brandy producer in the region), Azmont Investments, Meat Industry Goranovic, Lazine (dairy products), and others. UDG is part of the "Friend of X23 network", and plays the role of Country Manager in the Startup Europe Awards context.

Univerza-v-LjubljaniUniversity of Ljubljana is the oldest and largest higher education and scientific research institution in Slovenia. University with its rich tradition was founded in 1919. It has more than 40.000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and employs approximately 5.600 higher education teachers, researchers, assistants and administrative staff in 23 faculties and three arts academies. The central building, all three academies and faculties are located in the centre. Some of the most recent and modern buildings were constructed on the outskirts of Ljubljana, giving the university and its students a ubiquitous presence in the city. Repeated cooperations under FP7 framework programme.

With its nine Training and research departments (UFR) and its Institute of Technology (IUT), Paris Descartes University encompasses all the fields of knowledge of human and health sciences. It is the only university of the Ile-de-France region to offer medical, pharmaceutical and odontological studies; its health department is renowned in Europe and in the whole world for the high quality of its training and the excellence of its research. Besides its multidisciplinary academic teaching and its outstanding research, Paris Descartes University is famous for the wealth of its history and property holding. Paris Descartes helped X23 in co-designing the programme for the Open Access Coordination Action in training innovation.

The University of Pisa is a public institution boasting twenty departments, with high level research centres in the sectors of agriculture, astrophysics, computer science, engineering, medicine and veterinary medicine. Furthermore the University has close relations with the Pisan Institutes of the National Board of Research, with many cultural institutions of national and international importance, and with industry, especially that of information technology, which went through a phase of rapid expansion in Pisa during the nineteen sixties and seventies. UNIPI ranks high in most international rankings: ARWU 2014 released by the Shanghai JaoTong University, ranked UNIPI first among Italian Universities and among the top 200 universities in the world. Several cooperation were achieved with us under FP7 EU programme and, more recently, within the Industrial Leadership section of H2020.

The University of Siena awards first cycle, second cycle and single long cycle degrees in the following faculties: Economics, Pharmacy, Law, Engineering, Arts and Humanities, Arts and Humanities in Arezzo, Medicine and Surgery, Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences and Political Science, as well as several interfaculty degrees. The teaching activities of the University of Siena’s first and second level courses are generally carried out in one of the nine faculties. Postgraduate education at the University of Siena is carried out in postgraduate schools, master’s programmes, training, advanced training and refresher courses and summer schools, while postgraduate research is performed in the doctoral schools. We had several collaborations in co-designing and co-ordinate innovative projects both under the European Framework Programmes and H2020, and achieving concrete actions in technology transfer, together with startups and spin-off.

It is ranked 2nd among public universities according to Italy's leading financial daily, and among the top 8 medium-sized Italian universities by the Times Higher Education Ranking 2011-2012. UNIMORE is ranked among the top 8 universities in Italy for its high level of research, according to the most recent independent research assessment sponsored by the Italian Government (MIUR-CIVR). It offers state-of-the-art facilities with internationally sponsored research activities and with the two technopoles of Modena and Reggio Emilia, UNIMORE is part of the High Technology Regional Network. Together with UNIMORE, X23 signed a multilevel joint cooperation in order to co-research, co-design, co-develop, and co-manage relevant action in innovation and technology transfer, and moreover to share opportunities in placing best students in post-doc careers.

The University of Turin is one of the most ancient and prestigious Italian Universities. Hosting about 70.000 students, 4.000 academic, administrative and technical staff, 1800 post-graduate and post-doctoral students and with 120 buildings in different areas in Turin and in key places in Piedmont, the University of Turin can be considered as “city-within-a-city”, promoting culture and producing research, innovation, training and employment. The University of Turin is today one of the largest Italian Universities, open to international research and training. It carries out scientific research and organizes courses in all disciplines, except for Engineering and Architecture. The University of Zagreb (1669) is the oldest and biggest university in South-Eastern Europe. As a comprehensive public Central European university, University of Zagreb offers education and research and in all scientific fields (arts, biomedicine, biotechnology, engineering, humanities, natural sciences and social sciences) and a broad spectrum of courses at all study levels, from undergraduate to postgraduate. With 29 Faculties, 3 Art Academies and the University Centre for Croatian Studies it is the flagship educational institution in the country, a place where more than 7900 teachers and 72480 students develop knowledge and acquire skills. The University of Zagreb is a key-partner in BECreative as well as in Prometheus projects.

The Polytechnic University of Marche (formerly the University of Ancona) is an Italian university founded in 1969, headquartered in Ancona, and several offices located in other Marche cities Ascoli Piceno, Fermo, Macerata, Pesaro and San Benedetto del Tronto. As a polytechnic, it offers 5 faculties, e.g. Engineering, Economics, Agriculture, Medicine and Surgery, Science. The UNIVPM was special awarded during the Startup Europe Awards 2016 in Italy, as the best university in supporting the technology transfer systemic process in Italy and boosting capacity of spinoff and start-ups to grow and scale in the ecosystem, thanks to its programmes and concrete support by its programmes and labs – i.e. the Contamination Lab in Ancona.

Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava (USV) is one of the fastest rising universities in the Eastern European region providing higher education of high quality standards at a relatively low cost. It is one of the very few universities in this region with a comprehensive curriculum including more than 100 programs at undergraduate, master, doctoral and post-doctoral level from all five faculty areas (Arts & Humanities,Engineering & IT, Life Sciences, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences). A unique educational outpost that goes back nearly half a century, USV’s transnational platform is aimed at discovering, preserving and disseminating knowledge while promoting basic European principles, such as unity through diversity, in an area where the credibility and identity of the European Union needs to be strengthened and further increased. USV supported as a key-partner the programme Heureka as well as Prometheus, designed by X23 in a joint with a very large consortium of EU and extra-EU partners.

The British Library serves business and industry, researchers, academics and students, in the UK and world-wide Each year, six million searches are generated by the British Library online catalogue; nearly 400,000 visit the BL Reading Rooms; over 100 million items have been supplied to users all over the world by the BL. The British Library selected our project Prometheus to join a very large consortium of partners, among whom CNR ITC and IBAM Institutes (I), Fondazione Rinascimento Digitale (I), Fratelli Alinari, Fondazione per la Storia della Fotografia (I), Cap Digital Paris Region (F), MFG Medien-und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg mbH (D), Fondazione Rosselli (I), EBAN (B), NTUA (G), Beirut Creative Cluster – BCC (Lebanon), EUROPEANA, University of Ljubljana (SI), University of Zagreb (SI), Digital Spaces Living Lab (BG), Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores do Porto (P), Center for Usability Research & Engineering Julius Maximilians (D), Universitaet Wuerzburg (A), VIGC (Belgium), iRights.Law (Germany) etc., in order to promote and experiment use/re-use of the Europeana cultural resources.

Graz University of Technology co-operates with universities and research institutes it has chosen on the basis of defined criteria. The University of Graz supported the EUHeritageTOUR programme led by X23 in cooperation with the key-partner City of Graz who played as a direct beneficiary of a EU Grant implementing crucial actions at local level.

The Discovery Programme’s mission is to explore Ireland’s past and its cultural heritage by conducting advanced research in Irish archaeology and related disciplines and by disseminating its findings widely to the global community. The Discovery Programme conducts advanced analysis of Irish Archaeology and pursues its goals by identifying 'gaps' in our knowledge or areas where intense research is required or would be valuable. A dedicated project team is then employed for a suitable period to pursue the topic in question. It promotes interdisciplinary research involving experts in the humanities (anthropologists, historians, linguist) and the sciences (particularly the sciences that study the landscape and environment of the past; paleoenvironmental, osteoarchaeological, geological, flora and fauna). Key-partner in BeLive3D programme designed and coordinated by X23 during the preparation phase, then led by University of Salerno.
